Alfred Dockery is a self-described armchair detective and hobby historian who mainly writes true crime stories set in the Appalachian Mountains. He is a technical editor and former trade press journalist for publications like Textile World and Furniture Today. He also writes about historically bad science and inventions in a Substack: A History of Bad Ideas. Alfred is an Asheville native and an N.C. State graduate. Retired Detective Sergeant R. Scott Lunsford has 33 years of law enforcement experience, is the author of three crime novels set in Asheville, and hosts the Felon File podcast.
